Hot Blast Stoves

Introduction

RPR ™ technologies have been integrated to the preventive maintenance program of the hot blast stoves in many plants.

The regular endoscopic inspection of the hot blast stoves allows a regular monitoring of the condition of the refractory lining (hot air outlet, combustion chamber, burner, dome) , blast furnace, hot main... and allows the operator to schedule preventive maintenance operations, or major repairs.

Ceramic welding of the refractory lining of hot blast stoves is used as a curative technology, but also as a preventive maintenance method.

A combination of a regular monitoring and of ceramic welding allows a longer lifetime of the refractory lining (without major repair) and reduces the risk of long idle the stoves due to unexpected refractory damage.
