RPR Products : RPR-SL

a) Objectives  

• Repair of damages or defects (micro and small cracks) of refractory material in the chamber or coke oven flue by a GLOBAL approach (micro- and small cracks are too small for any other type of hot repair)
• Eliminate or reduce emissions to the stack due to leakage from chamber through the oven flue channel                             
• Moreover, application of the new SL product will allow the operator to better control the oven heating system. (Energy saving)

 

b) Process

• Projection of the RPR SL product at high temperature into the chamber through the charging holes or through the door, owing to new injection equipment.
• The combustible mixture ignites spontaneously in contact with the hot atmosphere and produces a “silica mist” which spreads to all the free area, and forms, throughout the surface of the refractory material, a silica layer filling up the micro- and small cracks.
   

 

c) Advantages

• Fast treatment : no or small production disturbances
• Global treatment : all the thin and micro cracks are treat in one application
• Reduce the stack emissions due to the leakages between the coking chamber and the flues
• Allow a better regulation of the flues (air-gas)
